CNAA Mission

The Cardinal Newman Athletic Association (CNAA) is an “all volunteer” group that is dedicated to making the sports programs for CNHS students the best they can be.  Membership in the CNAA is open to each sport team.  A representative of that sports team must simply volunteer to be the booster parent(s) of a particular sport during a full season.  Although gate receipts provide some revenue for the general athletic fund, the expanse of the sports programs at CNHS has grown in recent decades.  More funding is needed and this is the primary responsibility of the CNAA.

“The mission of the Cardinal Newman Athletic Association (CNAA) is to help support, sustain, and assist in the funding of the school’s 22 sports teams.”

The CNAA helps to coordinate fund raising efforts among the sports and to oversee the proper accounting of the incoming funds.  Although its role is primarily a financial supporting arm of the athletic programs it is by no means limited to this scope.  The CNAA interacts with the Athletic Director and coaches to help facilitate team needs and priorities.  It also identifies areas of the sports complex where improvements can be made through additional and specific fund raising efforts.  The CNAA reports to the athletic director and the president of CNHS.
